Being a hipster is hard enough when not worrying about being sweaty or sexy, luckily for us at swexy we have given the gift of being sweaty-sexy-hip-swexy, just in time for spring… jumping the gun by just a few months, but hey its sunny somewhere.
The Absolute Rock Edition party at Sugar Wednesday night was a great time (of course, when the booze is free), but the party really set off once the band took to stage. Never seen a group of socialites and models get so rowdy to “Cat Scratch Fever”. Fantastic!
Parties need two things: Wild flock of beehotches (ladies), and good tunes.
One thing to keep out of a summer style party promotion is free seating in shade. This grandma found out that reduced hearing blocked the music and the shaded seat kept her cool. Party planners take note. If you want dancing and general fun having, refrain from public seating. (sorry Dragon-i)
It’s the once a year event, where plastic cup neclaces and Lan Kwai newbies flock to the two streets in Central for “Beerfest 09″. Or since there are no real beer tastings or places to consume tremendous amounts, this event should be called “Come here if you want to penguin waddle through hordes of people just out to snap photos with footlong telephoto lenses ‘09″. At least the San Miguel cutie was handing out fans, or most of us would have drown in sweat.
Buy 2 party beers, get one free. If the name doesn’t sell itself, perhaps the fact it is made in China? No? Then it must be the seemingly ‘old’ lettering. Having lived in HK most of my life- never once seeing this beer is just frightening. It may expire before adventurers actually drink it.
